TIPSE, the Tourism Innovation Partnership for Social Entrepreneurship is a network of leading universities and social enterprises who have joined together to promote social entrepreneurship in the tourism and hospitality sectors. Social entrepreneurship offers creative and innovative approaches to addressing the growing social problems and environmental problems the world is facing, using a business model. It focuses on business development for the primary purpose of alleviating often intractable social problems.
The potential of social entrepreneurship in tourism and hospitality remains little explored.
The aim of TIPSE is to stimulate discussion and explore the development of partnerships between educational institutions and social enterprises to see how education and research can facilitate social entrepreneurship in tourism. TIPSE is grateful to UnLtd for its sponsorship of this programme
